1800's Mulberry Transferware Ironstone Plate - Antique Purple Indian Temples Toile Plate with Damage/Crack
A vintage mulberry toile transferware plate with damage & crazing. A beautiful piece best suited for display or wall hanging in a hard to find purple transfer print color/pattern. There was only one manufacturer of this pattern Thomas & John Carey dating this piece to early to mid 1800's. The center of the plate features a scenic print of a village and mosque with camels in the foregound, and the rim of the plate features a floral pattern and if you look closely you will see additional smaller scenic inserts within the border as well.
wear consistent with age & use - see photos for crack that appears on both front/back of piece but most obvious on the back, crazing of glaze typical of pieces of this age
back reads indian temples with R stamp (color and mark indicate piece is likely from 1840's)
